I’m trying to sandblast a logo onto a glass, but I can’t get the logo and the glass to appear at the same time. Do you have any tips on what I’m doing wrong? (Additional question: can I somehow control the transparency of labels? For example, to adjust the visibility of the said logo?
Sandblasted logo on glass
ok, i think i find a way …
You can simply add a black/white image to the opacity channel of the label. The white will have the opacity at 100, black at 0. Every grey in between is just a percentage.
First place your logo. If you’re rendering on a cup-like shape, make sure to turn off “Two Sided” and adjust the depth in the Texture Map Properties so that the logo only appears on the outside face of the glass. You can also split the surface if your object has more complicated geometry.
To get the appearance that the logo has been sandblasted, plug in the logo texture (white logo on black background) into a Color To Number node. Plug the Color To Number node into the roughness of the Glass material (under the circle labeled “+”) and use the Output From and Output To values to drive the roughness of the logo (To) and the roughness of the surrounding glass (From). I also used the logo to make a small negative bump to help define the edge of the sandblasted area.
Final Result:
Perfectly explained, thank you!
sounds easy, thanks!
